The Patient Controller NR (PC) app is specifically designed for patients using Abbott recharge-free devices, such as Proclaim™ SCS systems, Proclaim™ DRG therapy, and Infinity™ DBS systems.
Developed by Abbott, the Patient Controller NR app serves individuals with chronic pain and neurologic disorders who are being treated with Abbott neuromodulation devices. This application offers patients a convenient way to manage their physician-prescribed programs. The app utilizes Bluetooth® wireless technology to establish communication between the implanted stimulator and the Patient Controller NR App. Additionally, the Patient Controller Application is simple to navigate and can be easily accessed on recommended iOS devices provided by Abbott.
Key features of the app include:
- Ability to turn stimulation ON/OFF
- Selection of stimulation programs based on therapy needs
- Adjustment of stimulation amplitude
- Battery status check
- Activation of MRI mode for MR Conditional systems
- Activation and deactivation of Surgery Mode
Moreover, the PC app provides access to NeuroSphere™ Virtual Clinic, enabling users to remotely connect with their clinicians for routine programming adjustments. This eliminates the need for in-person clinic visits when modifying stimulation settings. With the secure in-app video chat, patients can engage in telehealth sessions directly within the PC application.
